Right now all three of my boys are reading about mythical creatures, Gods, Goddesses, or a heroic figure of some sort. It has sparked a lot of interest so I decided to do a two week study on them.
We will be learning about Greece; the culture, food, clothing, what countries surround it, etc. We will also be learning about demographics.
I have got some great books from the library to help with this study.

Some great activities involving this weeks study are the following:
Making trading cards for chosen God or Goddess: Each student makes 6 trading cards that include the following: Name of character chosen, List powers/abilities, Colored picture on the front.
Comic Book creation: Choose any characters discussed during this unit and create a comic book. (I will post pics when we finish these)
Here are some of the trading cards we’ve already completed. I will be laminating these so that they can trade and keep the cards:

We will also be doing a comparison piece these two weeks, while using the Mythology book. This book gives a great over view of mythology across the globe. We will be creating a chart giving a detail analysis of similarities and differences in stories, legends, and myths across the globe. The chart will be categorized per country.
There are some great online resources as well:
